Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We use this to create and manage your account.

Podcast Content

We process podcast RSS feed URLs, episode audio (via AssemblyAI for transcription), and generated newsletter content. Audio is not stored by PodDistill — it is sent directly to AssemblyAI for processing.

Payment Information

Billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. We retain your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

Usage Data

We use PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for error monitoring. This includes page views, feature usage events, and technical error reports. Data is anonymized where possible.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Service
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To send newsletters on your behalf (when you use the email feature)
• To communicate with you about the Service (account, billing, updates)
• To monitor and fix errors

3. Data Sharing

We share data only with the third-party services required to operate PodDistill:

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your content to train AI models.

4. Data Retention

Your account data, transcripts, and newsletters are retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual newsletters at any time. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (NextAuth session). PostHog may set analytics cookies. No advertising cookies are used.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your newsletter content at any time (copy HTML/Markdown)

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication (OAuth 2.0), and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Children

The Service is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the Service.
